I live and work in Carcassonne, S France. No art school for me, just an emotional shock discovering native indian culture through books about twenty years ago. I was interested in texture from the start and and will use plenty of it wherever I can, the scoring and marking often shows the progress of my work.
I tend to work instinctively. When I start a new a painting, I have no idea where it will take me. One thing leads to another and the journey begins. When silhouettes or portraits appear I welcome it.
My abstract work can feature a lot of different mediums, including rusty nails, silk paper, old maps and wire – paintings, sculptures, engraving, plaster, ink, charcoal….I want to try it all – no limits.
