Rod Craig lives and works in Woodstock. He is currently painting with ink and watercolour in both figurative and abstract approaches, subjects vary from Oxfordshire landscapes to images of the streets and architecture of New York.
Alongside his ongoing photography, Rod has developed a technique he calls ‘photopainting’ – a unique process involving photographic collage which he uses as a basis for work in acrylics, pastels or watercolour. The finished pieces have a slightly surreal, almost cubist character.
Most of Rod’s work draws its inspirations from his passion for landscape and music. Rod is also a performing musician who’s main instrument is the mandolin.
